Final Fantasy XIV fans, here is something for you today. Modder ‘Saika Darkmoon’ has released a new mod called Hairworks 2 that upscales every hair texture in the game to 4K, and hand-touches and downsamples them to 1K and 2K across the board.
What is a Square Enix account? A Square Enix account is a free service provided for authentification in all of Square Enix's online services. Besides its use in all future online services, one can also associate multiple IDs from current services to a single Square Enix account and enjoy features only available to Square Enix account holders. Upon the surface of this multi-aspected crystal are carved the myriad deeds of red mages from eras past.
The Texture Pack features over 700 reworked hair textures for every race, and gender including Miqote tails.
In order to install it, you’ll have to download the pack from here and follow this guide.
- Download the mod file and unpack it anywhere you like but remember where it’s saved.
- Download and install Liinko’s Textools 1.8.5 or Higher and launch the program.
- In the top right of the program click “Mods” and then “Import ModPack”
- Find the .ttmp file you downloaded and import all the textures.
- Congrats! you just installed about 2 months of my life spread about and across 778 textures.

To be honest, I can’t see any major differences between them. The reworked textures definitely look better but, to be honest, I was expecting a higher visual improvement, especially when this Texture Pack weights around 1.3GB. Also, this pack does not enable any NVIDIA hairworks effects, so don’t expect such improvements.
